Green Corridor Urban Wetland

As part of a multidisciplinary effort, landLAB is collaborating with the Green Corridor team on the conceptual design of an interpretive wetland located between the University of Windsor’s Sports Complex and the Assumption Catholic high school in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The project is a key component in the Green Corridor Project, greening the gateway to Canada from the Ambassador Bridge linking Windsor to Detroit, Michigan. The project will incorporate native habitat restoration, as well as interpretive outdoor classroom areas, boardwalks and will be linked to other green corridor projects including the adjacent “nature bridge.” landLAB is working closely with the City of Windsor to link the project with the City’s bicycle master plan, as well as the University of Windsor University’s open space connection to the proposed “Campus Spine/Main Street.” The project will eventually include an integrated environmental park and native plant arboretum.  As a landscape designer, I was responsible for the conceptual programming, graphics, design, and print documents for this project.  The project is currently under consideration by the County of Essex, Ontario, Canada.
